Instructions how to determine the amoun of wallpaer for you home

  1. Measure the ceiling height of the room you are planning to wallpaper. Our example we use a ceiling that is 9 feet in height.
  2. Optimum the width of each wall by measuring on the floor from edge to edge and round to the nearest foot. Our example we use a room that is 11 feet wide by 13 feet long.
  3. Calculate the square length of the 11-foot wall: 11 foot wide 9 foot high matches 99 square feet per wall.
  4. Multiply the results by taking two of the opposite wall: 99 times two is equal to 198 square feet.
  5. Repeat the process for the length of the room: 13 feet long time 9 feet high is equal to 117; 117 times two is equivalent to 234 square feet.
  6. Add the square feet of the walls together: 198 plus 234 is equal to 432 square feet of total wall space.
  7. Subtract large areas such as a photo window by figuring out the square length of the window and pulling off the total wall space. For example, a window that is 6 feet by 5 feet would be multiplied 6 times 5, which is equal to 30. Subtract the window area: 432 minus 30 is similar to 402 square feet of wallpaper needed.
  8. Divide the number of square feet per roll of wallpaper into your total square foot of wall area, and then round up to determine how many rolls of wallpaper you need to purchase. For example, a typical roll of wallpaper is 35 square feet. Distribute 402 by 35, equal to 11.49; Round to the nearest integer: 12. That means you would need 12 rolls of wallpaper to complete the task.
